Passionate chemistry tutor with doctorate degree with proven track record for A levels and GCSE

## 2017/2018 result update: All my A level students secured A grade and one with A* in chemistry. GCSE students scored 8 or 9. Feel proud for them !! ## ( Testimonials will be available on request)

Experienced teacher with PhD in Chemistry, A level examiner with focus on developing understanding and exam oriented approach leading to better grades.

My teaching approach is flexible and tailored to student`s need. The in depth knowledge of chemistry, years of experience and passion for teaching enable me to explain complex concepts in more understandable and manageable way.

The comprehensive knowledge of chemistry is crucial at A level, as most of the exam questions requires application of the knowledge rather than just recalling facts. My teaching develops better understanding of the topics which helps students to answer questions with confidence.

I use molecular models for relevant topics (shapes of molecules, Transition metals, Polymer, structure and bonding etc). I provide well prepared colourful mind maps and chart to help students remembering the content for longer. There will be plenty of topic based self-prepared resources to build knowledge from basic to advanced level. I provide support between lessons by email/phone so that student don`t have to wait for the next lesson to get answer for the query.

Being an examiner for A level chemistry, I know marking process and examination question style very well and prepare student to hit those "key marking points".

I teach chemistry only, which help me focus and constantly improve my teaching practice in the subject. I have had all the students achieved A/A* at GCSE and most of the students achieved A grade at their A level and studying medicine, dentistry and other professional courses (see feedback below).

I have enhanced DBS certificate. The lessons will be in the group of two students with similar competency and same sepcification. I do tutoring from my home only.

Dr Sandip provides the best tuition and is always able to help whenever and however he can!

Dr Sandip helped me achieve an A grade in chemistry which would otherwise have been extremely difficult. He helped me by remaining patient and never moving on until I firmly understood the topic. He also provided a large amount of course material both in paper form and e-mail form which made it easy to access and gave me the confidence I needed. I could not recommend him enough.

Excellent tutor, highly professional, patience and passionate about teaching. If you are willing to work hard undoubtedly he is the one who will definitely make huge difference in your grade. Couldn't have done A* in chemistry without his help at A level.

Interview with Dr Sandip

QUESTION 01 | 07
When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?
Dr Sandip — I developed keen interest in chemistry from childhood. Around the age of eight, when I saw my dad’s chemistry lab with various glassware, I felt distillation was the coolest thing. Since then I developed strong bond (pun) with chemistry. I helped colleagues and friend’s children for their A level chemistry and they liked my teaching which led me to private tutoring to help many more students.

QUESTION 02 | 07
Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).
Dr Sandip — I can teach Maths, Biology and Physics as well but I don’t teach them as I can’t justify teaching those subject with same passion and level of understanding so I don’t teach them. Also, teaching only one subject help me improving my teaching further as I believe that no one is perfect (at least not me ☺) and I believe that learning is continuous and lifelong process.

QUESTION 03 | 07
Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?
Dr Sandip — One of the secondary school teacher inspired me a lot. His passion towards the teaching was amazing and inspired me to be self-disciplined and hard working to achieve goals.

QUESTION 04 | 07
What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?
Dr Sandip — Good subject knowledge, passion for the teaching and being patient. Also, tutor must be always encouraging, motivating and enhancing the positive strength of students to do their best.

QUESTION 05 | 07
What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?
Dr Sandip — At school, the difficulty I faced while learning chemistry was developing in depth understanding of the topic and weaving different areas on chemistry with each other. I liked chemistry but I struggled understanding it in depth. However, when I started teaching chemistry, I thought that I have struggled enough and won’t let my student struggle. I worked hard preparing each lesson and by thinking from student perspective to make topic more manageable. Over the 20 years, it still going on.

QUESTION 06 | 07
Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

Dr Sandip — Different areas of chemistry is interwoven and when you integrate with each other and have an overview while learning- it’s amazing. It give me a joy and satisfaction when student say that- “Ohhh, now I understand!! Never thought that way before”
QUESTION 07 | 07
What makes you a Superprof (besides answering this interview questions :-P)?

Dr Sandip — I believe that tutees with dedication towards studies deserve good knowledge and grades in chemistry. If they are willing to work hard, I will work with them to achieve their Goal, no matter what it takes.
