About Sara
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have 15 years' experience of teaching one to one and in small groups in English, French and Maths and English as a Foreign Language . I worked as a teaching assistant for two years, in two different schools both in this country and abroad. Also, I run a homework club every week for girls aged 7-11 in line with the new National Curriculum requirements, I ran a few summer camps, and a summer school including teaching EFL and helping with English and Maths. As well as this I worked as an English Expert raising the grades of children who were failing in their English GCSE. I am currently running a homework club in Leeds, and I volunteered last year in a local primary school and I am returning to that.

I have one.
- Where and with whom did you train?
Harrow College, QMW, City University
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
CILIP
- Tell me about some of your current students.
I have recently tutored two separate students for 11+ for Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning and Non Verbal Reasoning. I did this intensively over the summer and they were pleased with their tuition and felt their exams went well. They both got into the schools that they wanted to get into. I am also currently teaching GCSE English for some students including those who will be taking the new GCSE in 2017, so I am keeping up to date with current developments. I am teaching a Phd student for intermediate French with excellent results and have recommended excellent resources for her. As well as this I am teaching an 8 year old boy for French and he has improved immensely. My English as a Foreign Language tuition has included a Hungarian girl, and a Chinese girl as well as other nationalities.

Sara helped my son to think about the material in a structured and focused way in order to plan and write essays and to develop the appropriate exam technique. He surprised himself by earning an A* at A'level.Sara has also taught my 11 year old son Maths for nearly two terms. He is slowly improving and is working towards a level 4 in his SATs. In my experience, Sara is a patient and conscientious tutor.
_____________________________________________Sara has been tutoring my son for two years. She has done a tremendous job, by building his Maths and English skills; to a higher standard. She's a lovely, caring and patient person. She explains things very well and makes sure my son understands the tasks. My son's level has risen exceptionally high, by the help of her (Sara).
Sara tutors my daughter Katie who is in year 10 of school in English and on occasion French when needed. Since having Sara, Katie has improved significantly in English and has become more confident. Sara is very enthusiastic, always plans what to do in the lessons whether Katie needs help with homework or will bring other work for her to complete. She always asks me before the lesson what Katie would like to cover. She is caring even providing me with replacement tutors for Katie for next term.
A key comment my daughter made was that she likes the attention that Sara gives her while she is studying, the support is there, and it makes her feel very good about herself and smart. I am very happy with the progress my daughter has made, and this is only after a handful of lessons. Sara is a very good tutor, and doesn't waste any time in getting straight to work. Highly recommended
We hired Sara to teach English to our au pair who is Romanian and to improve our son's English. He is in year 7. She has been a hit with my son and au pair. It is too early to say whether my son's English has improved as we have only had her for two months but we are very happy to recommend her.
She is always friendly and works hard with my son and au pair.My daughter was lacking in confidence in confidence whilst studying Maths in Year 4. I found Sara's details online. Sara's wealth of experience in Maths, English and Foreign Language attracted me to contact Sara. Since January 2014, my daughter has slowly built her confidence in Maths and this was reflected in her end of year report. She has rapidly moved up two levels within the year! Sara's tutoring techniques have helped my daughter to understand and enjoy learning Maths.
I'm very pleased with Sara by how she helped my daughter to prepare for the Grammar School entrance exam. With very short notice, Sara was able to fi my daughter t into her diary and was very flexible in adjusting with the timings. She has a very strong hold on English and we were able to make use of her experience and skills. We could get some guidance on the tests and were provided with some prep material too.
Sara tutored my son very well, explaining to him fully the elements of the 11+ exam for English. As a result he got into two of the schools he tried out for. She was thorough in her approach to preparation for the 11+ and worked hard to help my son.
