I have taught in a variety of schools from the independent sector to inner city schools throughout my career spanning twenty years. For the last fifteen years I have marked for the exam boards which has given me an in depth understanding of exam technique that benefits my students immensely. Strong subject knowledge is not enough to do well in external exams and my experience has enabled students to successfully secure the higher grades at both GCSE and A level.
My tutoring experience has also been over the last fifteen years with a wide variety of students from all different backgrounds. I personalise the session to meet the requirements of each student. This may be subject knowledge, exam technique or to boost self confidence. This has also included UCAS applications; essay writing; ISA preparation and revision technique. I have worked with students who are still at school, as well as mature students and graduates wishing to move on to alternative careers.

Recent students have gone on to study degrees such as optometry, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, marine biology, physiotherapy and midwifery at universities throughout the country.
75% of my students this year achieved one or two grades higher than their predicted target grade. This included a number of A* grades at A level for OCR and AQA exam boards and at GCSE.
Students have worked with me who have been home educated; struggling at school with dyslexia or personal circumstances that have meant that they have missed a lot of school. They have gone on to be extremely successful at GCSE and A level.
Sessions I offer are very much personalised and can be intensive revision sessions leading up to the exams or ongoing weekly sessions throughout the year.
I was struggling with Biology, especially with exam technique. I didn't think I would get the grades I needed for Uni. Leading up to exams, I came to Sarah's and she really helped me understand exam technique in depth and in an interesting way. I felt I could relate to her and have a good discussion about everything which made everything easier. She has a very deep knowledge of all exam techniques and styles from many years and lots of resources. She definitely saved my Biology A Level.
Loved having Sarah as my Biology tutor!! I started having online lessons at the start of YR13 where I was predicted a B. With Sarah's help I managed to end up with an A*! Sarah is the most amazing tutor always very organised, never late and a really great teacher! She helped me to focus on not only topics I struggled with but also different styles of questions where I needed to practice and refine my answers. Could not recommend anyone better! I will miss my Biology sessions with Sarah!
Sarah has been a fantastic help not only with Biology GCSE
exam preparation but Chemistry and Physics too. Sarah's warm,
straightforward approach immediately put Neve at ease and within just a
couple of sessions I could tell that her confidence had improved markedly.
Each lesson was carefully structured ensuring Neve had caught up on the
areas she was struggling with in time for the exams. Neve got really good
grades in each subject and thoroughly enjoyed her extra revision
I was initially predicted a C in A level Biology. Working with Sarah, I managed to get an A in my exams. She has a great way of explaining complex topics, along with a vast amount of resources that make it easier for a student to understand and learn them. The main focus leading up to the exams were past paper techniques and practice. With so many resources, I never ran out of work. I believe it is this that allowed me to achieve my Biology grade. I would definitely recommend tuition with Sarah
By the time my A level exams came about, my confidence had improved drastically which in turn helped with my performance. Sarah gave me lots of exam practice and provided useful resources on topics I was unsure of.
Very friendly and approachable from the beginning.
I had a brilliant working relationship with Sarah, she is friendly, understanding and very knowledgeable of the subject and made A level Biology accessible to me through her style of teaching. I went from being very uncertain and dreading my Biology lessons at school to feeling like I could enjoy the subject and confident enough to tackle the bigger questions!
I would certainly recommend Sarah to anyone looking for extra support in A level Biology.
