My methodology is simple yet effective - I like first of all to establish what exactly the student needs help with, and to find their areas of weakness so that I can focus the lessons on improving them. The student usually is aware of their weaknesses so I ask them to explain them to me personally, so that we can address them together. I am an enthusiastic and motivating teacher, as I believe that in order for a student to really apply themselves, they must feel improvements each lesson. I think vocabulary is extremely important to languages, so I always have WordReference up so that we can extend the vocab within every theme explored - I myself learn new vocabulary every lesson!
I am a French and Spanish student at Durham university and have tutored languages for 4 years. I have head 5 different pupils, with the linguistic level ranging from beginner to GCSE level (I am capable of teaching A Level too). I am a native French speaker, and have studied Spanish since year 7 and I am continuing to so at a much superior level at university.
A native bilingual speaker of French and English in my second-year of Modern Languages and Cultures studies at Durham University. Have experience in tutoring, au pairing, waiting and manual labour which have all contributed to my mature and responsible attitude towards work, as well as my composure under stress and ability to adapt to unfamiliar environments. My position as prefect, coach (Cross-Country) and captain (Football) have taught me the balance between authority and respect, boosted my confidence in large groups, and contributed to my required discipline and organisation.
