I have been teaching English as an Additional Language to Secondary age students (11 - 16) for the last six years. I previously taught Literacy to Adults in further education. I have a degree and have attended courses for professional development

Morpeth School 2007 – present September 2012 to March 2017 - Teaching Assistant with responsibility for co-ordinating EAL. January 2017 – present - job title changed to EAL C-ordinator
Responsibilities: Working with children from different countries, helping them to integrate into the school environment, preparing and teaching lessons in ESOL (EAL); teaching Entry Level English to Year 11 students; supporting year 11 students from abroad in applying to college including interview skills, writing cv's and person specifications. Also supporting EAL students in the classroom. Administrative tasks in relation to EAL students – liaising with teachers and staff, assessment of student's levels in communicating in English, writing reports for EAL students.

Assisting students in the classroom to help them understand the lessons and differentiating the work in the classroom to make sure they understand. April 2003 - September 2007 Tower Hamlets College - Hourly paid Adult Literacy Lecturer Teaching adults from Entry Level 1 to Level 1 Literacy.
Responsibilities: Teaching a mixture of native English speakers, and also ESOL students who moved on to Literacy. Preparing Schemes of Work for each lesson to cover the Core Curriculum for Skills for Life, Literacy. Preparing lesson plans for each lesson and accordingly preparing differentiated work for learners. Attending team meetings and programme meetings at the College. Meeting up with learners to discuss individual learning goals and ensuring these goals are achievable. Responsibilities: Teaching Helping in Schools for parents to understand how to help their children and for others to either go into becoming a TA or going into teaching. Course taught from Level 1 to Level 3 in schools and community centres in Tower Hamlets
