To genuinely assimilate information, learning must be driven by involvement. We must first decide where this lies and agree a route into your interest. Chemistry and pharmaceuticals have an enormous overarching influence on all our lives and this process can be both enlightening and fun, especially if we can identify specific areas which affect you.
Following a brief academic career (London Univ') in organic chemistry I entered Big Pharma (Glaxo, Lilly, Proctor & Gamble) to learn what's required to survive & progress. I evolved into a Quality Assurance specialist for pharmaceutical products, acquiring management skills in production, lab services, auditing, training, progressing to senior level and consulting roles. Just retired, I am equally at home from teaching chemistry (A level+) to professional scientist interview strategies to managing government approval inspections. I also like microlite flying and classic Subaru Sti's. Some think I hold a lively conversation. Humour is critical to interest!
Recently retired, now looking for a satisfying outlet in communication.
- BSc, MSc, PhD from London in the 70's.
- 10 years fast track technical management in Proctor & Gamble, Glaxo, Beechams (I hold the Pantene P&G patent).
- To retirement as an international Quality Assurance Consultant to the industry acquiring exposure at many management levels to all aspects of this industry's functions.
- Very happy in the coaching/teaching environment, richly supported by effective anectdotal and practical inputs.
