My method of teaching sewing is to learn about the basics first, learn how to operate the machine, practice basic stitches to start with, follow and understand the markings of a commercial pattern, i.e. seams, hems and finally machine into place. If making soft furnishings, e.g. curtains we measure and make up to desired width and drop. I can teach any sewing project you would like, I am happy to advise, and see you progress with six basic lesson progressing onto altering a pattern and apply any changes required, the object being; make exactly what you want in the style that appeals to you.
Fashion my passion. I am a creative person, with a good eye for colour and design. I've attended both fashion and soft furnishing college's Macbeth Community Centre. I've have undertaken both fashion, and soft furnishings for bespoke, construction, repairs and alteration. For many years I worked freelance and calculated made to measure finishes to a professional standard. I've also taught sewing fashion to a group of student's at Chelsea Community Centre on their own individual projects.
