I was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. I studied music from a young age, first as a guitarist in the Conservatoire of Northern Greece and later as a vocalist in the Conservatoire of Kalamaria, the State Conservatoire of Greece and Macedonian Conservatoire of Thessaloniki. In 2007, I joined the Mixed Choir of Thessaloniki, expanding my classical repertoire as a baritone/tenor singer, singing in numerous concerts and operas in Greece and abroad. The same year I formed my own band A Kapela as a singer, guitarist and songwriter, with which I made an EP, won awards in music competitions and toured. Both projects ran until 2011 when I moved to London for further studies, where I started performing with my function band, Jukebox among others. In 2014 I finished my BMus with Honours in Music Performance and Production in London Centre of Contemporary Music and focused on teaching. In 2016 I attended Levels 1&2 of Estill Voice Training and participated in the project album "The City" as a singer and songwriter.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
Yes I do
- Tell me about some of your current students.
I have students that are adults, looking to prepare themselves in order to start gigging, or they are aiming to get a place in a music college and they are interested in preparing for their audition, or need help with music theory. Others have singing or guitar lessons just for fun or even to be able to sing a surprise song at their wedding! I also teach music theory to a 12 year old student and singing and guitar to a 14 year old. I used to do music to a 4 year old too.
There is an extra charge if you want to have the lessons at your home. (usually £5-£10, depending on where you live).

Dimitris is a great teacher. I have been having lessons with him for 4-5 months and have noticed a definite improvement in my voice. (I have actually moved to a different part of London during this time but still come back to Tooting for my weekly lessons!) I have learnt a lot about technique, my range has increased, and I feel much more confident.
Dimitris is a great tutor! It's been only 3 weeks, but I feel like I have already made substantial progress. At least, I am way more aware of my voice, and the way it works. Dimitris' advice and exercices are really useful. And he is very nice and always listening, adapting to his students.
I am not the greatest guitar player in the world but having D as my teacher has given me more confidence to try new chords and learn the basics of understanding music. He is very patient, friendly and most of all a fantastic guitarist! I have a lesson once a month and even when I don't have time to practice between lessons, I always learn something new and manageable to take on board to become a better player! Looking forward to my next lesson!!!
Dimitris comes once a week to teach guitar to my youngest boy. First time ever my son looks forward to having a lesson. he practices before Dimitris arrives, he gets organised and all that. So it is because of Dimitris. Dimiitris is enthusiastic, passionate about music and he is very patient and smiles all the time.
I am really happy to have found him and highly recommend him to anyone.
Now retired, and with limited singing experience, Dimitris immediately established rapport with me and took pains to understand my concerns and the goals I wanted to achieve. I feel he has appreciated my qualities as well as my needs. He is focused and disciplined in his teaching methods and, moreover, he makes singing so much fun. He has a great sense of humour and working hard with him is always such a pleasure.
This teacher is amazing, patient and a very talented person. Lessons are challenging but fun at the same time. I would recommend him to people at any levels of music knowledge. Best choice!
I've been having singing lessons with Dimitris for a couple of months now and am already seeing an improvement in my voice. He's very friendly and approachable - which helps if you need to get over any self-consciousness! He's also been really accommodating fitting lessons in around my changing schedule. He can teach a variety of styles and he certainly knows his stuff. It's a thumbs up from me!
I was always impressed by Dimitris! He has his way with children, he is patient and a positive person! A child will learn from him really easily, like a game but still will get the knowledge and all the appropriate techniques!
He knows what he's doing and I'm glad I met him
A model of appropriate behavior, he is in a league of his own and can provide extra instructional support based on individual student assessments. Every aspect of his teaching is innovative to say the least; instruction, assessment, interaction, communication, administration and management are just some of his areas of expertise as far as teaching is concerned.
My little one needed to improve her theory and sight singing along with her singing skills in order to prepare for her grade 4 singing exam. Dimitris was organized from the beginning and patient throughout. She achieved grade 4 with a high mark and now we will start preparing for grade 5. I also had some singing lessons with him that were really relaxing and fun. Strongly recommending him for all ages!
