I am a well rounded teacher who is flexible to each students needs and goals.
I trained myself at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in Vocal and Operatic Studies achieving a Bachelor of Music Honours Degree. In addition, I have since trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, achieving a Musical Theatre Masters Degree with Distinction. I am also a certifies vocal health first aider.
Further vocal and performance training includes the National Youth Theatre Epic Stages Course and Vox Integra Courses in the UK and Europe. Also I have Grade 8 ABRSM in both Singing and Piano, and can confidently accompany my students in lessons.
I have taught as a peripatetic singing teacher in numerous schools and other establishments, including Long Lake Camp for the Performing Arts in New York. I have also been the drama coach at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama Summer School for Classical Singers (2019 & 2021). I have good aural skills and historical knowledge around musical theatre and classical music, and offer aural and music theory lessons as well as acting and piano. I also have musically directed choirs and musicals.
I have 10 years teaching experience, teaching students from beginner to intermediate in a variety of genres including Musical Theatre, Pop, Classical and Jazz. Singing exam syllabuses taught include ABRSM, LCM and TRINITY. I have entered over 300 students for exams and results have averaged at a distinction.
I focus firstly on confidence building/finding your voice and then performance and vocal technique follow, although the two do intertwine.
Perfect! Went there without any expectation whatsoever, and left extremely satisfied and decided to keep on working on my voice furthermore. Jessica is an excellent teacher, during the whole lesson I felt very comfortable and she made sure I felt in a safe space so we could perform our lesson without problems. She explained things very clearly, every exercise had a purpose and made me feel that what we were doing had a very useful point. Can't wait to learn with her in the future!
Perfect! Jessica is a wonderful voice coach! I've already learned so much from her after a few sessions and am looking forward to working with her in the future. She is incredibly knowledgeable about technique and has a keen ear. She tailors each lesson to my goals and abilities and is very organized. I couldn't recommend her enough!
Perfect! My 8 year-old daughter really enjoyed her first lesson with Jessica - she has a lovely warm manner and was able to engage with her from the start. She’s already looking forward to the next lesson!
Perfect! My daughter likes her at first met, they get along well. She has beautiful voice and vocal technique, could be a role model for my litter girl.

Perfect! Jessica is such a pure soul! Really patient nd with a lot of experience behind. Her voice is beautiful even when she only speaks it's so pleasant to hear, it's almost healing. I loved her methodology and the fact that we kept it fun through the lesson. I couldn't be any happier
Perfect! Our young daughter is more a violinist and pianist at heart than a singer. She reached out to Jessica for help with an English song, as we are from Switzerland. From the very first second, Jessica got us! With her angelic and compassionate voice (yes, important too, when teaching through a computer!), energetic and knowledgable teaching, she took our daughter through the song. Totally inspired a little soul here!

Jess is an excellent singing teacher. Having lessons with her for the past 4 years has greatly improved my vocal technique and strength, as well as building my confidence as a performer and a young adult. Jessica’s kindness, thoughtful advice, and passion have been invaluable. I cannot recommend her enough!
Jessica is a truly inspirational and enthusiastic tutor! My daughter was ready to quit singing lessons as previous tutor very dull! Luckily for us and our daughter she was fortunate enough to find Jess.
Jessica is an exceptional tutor who has harnessed our daughter's singing ability which has resulted in fantastic exam results. Jessica is patient whilst still pushing our daughter to achieve her next set of targets. Practice areas for the next lessons are clear. Structured lessons. I would definitely recommend Jessica!
Jess and I have known each other for around 3 years. She is an extremely talented vocal coach and has so much enthusiasm. She puts her heart and soul in to every single thing that she embarks on. Jess ran some children's workshops for me and the children absolutely loved her! She is reliable, punctual, keen, passionate, creative, energetic - the list goes on! Jess has also directed the choir that I sing in and has really lifted everyone's confidence and helped people in so many different ways through her music. I highly recommend Jess and her wonderful smile.
Jess has been teaching my daughter singing for the last few years. I wanted to find someone understanding, compassionate, skilled and someone who my daughter would build a relationship with and trust in as she suffers with anxiety and low self confidence. Jess has been all of those things and more; she has tutored my daughter through Grade 6 & most recently Grade 8 Musical Theatre to achieve Distinction in both exams! We never had an intention of taking Grades, my daughter just loves to sing and I wanted to find someone who could make her believe in her own ability. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jess.
Jess is the most enthusiastic, unselfish, encouraging music teacher I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She has a great sense of humour but knows her stuff and enjoys sharing her knowledge. Jean Hudson
I have known Jess for 4 years having received a recommendation for her from a friend.
Jess has been a brilliant singing coach for two of my daughters.
Her lessons not only challenge and excite them in terms of the pieces that they work on, but also support them in achieving these challenges by steadily improving their technique.
There is always a good balance between fun and progress. She runs her lessons on time, deals with her students in a caring yet professional way, and communicates with me very well. A fabulous tutor.
I had lessons with Jess for just under a year and in that time I gained my Grade 8 in musical theatre. Jess is a magnificent teacher and I thoroughly recommend her to anyone looking to progress as a vocalist.
Jess is a brilliant teacher! She really gets to know her students and listens very well, adapting to the best way for them to learn. She challenges you in the best way.
Jessica is a fantastically engaging singing teacher and performer with great in depth knowledge of vocal technique and the skill to teach people of all ages. She is also a wonderful pianist!

Find out more about Jessica
When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?
I enjoyed singing from a young age and remember putting on concerts for my family every Sunday, singing anything from Steps to Robbie Williams. I started singing and piano lessons at the age of 8 and never stopped after that!
Is there a particular type music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?
There are a few people/bands I could listen to on a loop! Bon Iver, Lianne La Havas, Mumford and Sons, Fat Freddys Drop, Gregory Porter and Ludovico Einaudi
Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.
Once a student is confident in their ability, definitely exploring different vocal styles and music genres. Whether that be twanging out some musical theatre or rocking out to some indie. Each require a different set up.
Students may also like to challenge themselves and prepare for a music or acting exam!
What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?
Probably the organ! So much going on.
What are your keys to success?
Trusting the process. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable. Doing something that scares you. Perseverance!
Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.
Gregory Porter in the hope that we can duet.
Billie Eilish because I'd be really interested in talking about her experience.
Maria Callas so I can ask her to serenade me.
Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.
Strangely, I lost confidence in my singing a little when I went to music conservatoire and it took for me to get back to my childhood roots of singing music by Blue the band that reminded me why I loved singing in the first place. For the enjoyment and feel good factor! With singing you can be very self critical but sometimes it's worth stripping back to the simplicity of it to be able to excel again.
What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?
As well as being advanced in my craft, I believe I am a very empathetic teacher and listen to each students reasons for having lessons and responding to every individuals way of learning. It is so important to be flexible in what you do and I think that's what I bring to a lesson. Versatility.
