Genres/Styles that I teach: Musical theatre, Classical, Pop, Jazz
Exam I can prepare you for: LCM Musical Theatre & Pop, ABRSM, Trinity, LAMDA
Performances, auditions, exams, confidence building or even just musical therapy and switching off, whatever it is that brings you to your singing lesson I can tailor each lesson to the individual.
My teaching method is kinesthetic learning, alot of the technique I teach is learnt through physicalisation. Covering breath control, support and tone, clear text and presentation. This also blends in with the performance of a song and delving into a character.
I am a well rounded teacher who is flexible to each students needs and goals.
I did my Bachelor of Music Honours degree at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire Graduate and had classical training there, now I am at Mountview on the Musical Theatre Masters course in South East London.
I have 7 years teaching experience, teaching students from beginner to intermediate in a variety of genres including Musical Theatre, Pop, Classical and Jazz. Singing exam syllabuses taught include ABRSM, LCM and TRINITY. I have entered over 300 students for exams and results have averaged at a distinction.
I focus firstly on confidence building and then performance and vocal technique follow.
I have taught one to one in schools, been musical director for shows and choirs, ran drama workshops at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama Summer School for Classical Singers, taught as a vocal teacher at Long Lake Camp for the Performing Arts in New York and much more.
I have my Grade 8 ABRSM Piano and good aural skills and historical knowledge around musical theatre and classical music.
I have trained on the National Youth Theatre Epic Stages Course and Vox Integra UK and Europe. I have also performed both nationally and internationally.

Jess is an excellent singing teacher. Having lessons with her for the past 4 years has greatly improved my vocal technique and strength, as well as building my confidence as a performer and a young adult. Jessica’s kindness, thoughtful advice, and passion have been invaluable. I cannot recommend her enough!
Jessica is a truly inspirational and enthusiastic tutor! My daughter was ready to quit singing lessons as previous tutor very dull! Luckily for us and our daughter she was fortunate enough to find Jess.
Jessica is an exceptional tutor who has harnessed our daughter's singing ability which has resulted in fantastic exam results. Jessica is patient whilst still pushing our daughter to achieve her next set of targets. Practice areas for the next lessons are clear. Structured lessons. I would definitely recommend Jessica!
Jess and I have known each other for around 3 years. She is an extremely talented vocal coach and has so much enthusiasm. She puts her heart and soul in to every single thing that she embarks on. Jess ran some children's workshops for me and the children absolutely loved her! She is reliable, punctual, keen, passionate, creative, energetic - the list goes on! Jess has also directed the choir that I sing in and has really lifted everyone's confidence and helped people in so many different ways through her music. I highly recommend Jess and her wonderful smile.
Jess has been teaching my daughter singing for the last few years. I wanted to find someone understanding, compassionate, skilled and someone who my daughter would build a relationship with and trust in as she suffers with anxiety and low self confidence. Jess has been all of those things and more; she has tutored my daughter through Grade 6 & most recently Grade 8 Musical Theatre to achieve Distinction in both exams! We never had an intention of taking Grades, my daughter just loves to sing and I wanted to find someone who could make her believe in her own ability. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jess.
Jess is the most enthusiastic, unselfish, encouraging music teacher I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She has a great sense of humour but knows her stuff and enjoys sharing her knowledge. Jean Hudson
I have known Jess for 4 years having received a recommendation for her from a friend.
Jess has been a brilliant singing coach for two of my daughters.
Her lessons not only challenge and excite them in terms of the pieces that they work on, but also support them in achieving these challenges by steadily improving their technique.
There is always a good balance between fun and progress. She runs her lessons on time, deals with her students in a caring yet professional way, and communicates with me very well. A fabulous tutor.
I had lessons with Jess for just under a year and in that time I gained my Grade 8 in musical theatre. Jess is a magnificent teacher and I thoroughly recommend her to anyone looking to progress as a vocalist.
Jess is a brilliant teacher! She really gets to know her students and listens very well, adapting to the best way for them to learn. She challenges you in the best way.
Jessica is a fantastically engaging singing teacher and performer with great in depth knowledge of vocal technique and the skill to teach people of all ages. She is also a wonderful pianist!
