Emma is not only a truly gifted musician and performer she is also a natural teacher. Her teaching style is confident, engaging and openly honest, and has enabled me to gain renewed joy and confidence in my singing. Lessons are focused and well planned and delivered with an infectious, lively enthusiasm that allows for lots of fun whilst still achieving set goals. In addition she is highly professional, incredibly well organised and offering great value for money. I thoroughly recommend her.

Emma is an excellent singing teacher. She is very friendly, and is very professional and exceptionally knowledgable about singing and music. I was a complete beginner and I am thoroughly enjoying my singing with Emma 2 years on!

I've been having singing lessons with Emma since 2013 and she has helped grow my vocal abilities and confidence greatly. She is so supportive in and outside of lessons - for example, if I get an audition I feel comfortable asking her advice on what to sing. I would recommend Emma to people of all ages and singing abilities as she already works with such a range and knows how to support students at varying levels.

Emma has worked patiently and cheerfully with me over the last two years, gradually rectifying a lifetime of bad singing habits and turning my loud voice into a trained one. As a result, my range, tone and breathing have all improved markedly. Emma is always positive and encouraging, and gives very detailed feedback to show both the improvements and the things which still need work, so I always leave each lesson feeling positive about myself and my singing. I recommend Emma wholeheartedly.

I have been having singing lessons with Emma for the past 2 years, and have learnt so much over that time. She makes the lessons productive, fun, and chooses great songs for you to learn. She also adapts the classes to what you would like to work on, and explains things brilliantly which I feel has really benefited my singing. I am in my twenties and I have sung previously, but I know Emma would be a fantastic teacher whatever your age or level of ability.

J
Joyce

Emma is a lovely confident and experienced singing teacher. I would absolutely recommend her for lessons to anyone who wants the joy of developing their singing voice. I have been enjoying lessons with Emma for a few years and I look forward to every one.

I started lessons with Emma in 2016 and in that time she has helped me gain a deep understanding of the foundations of singing & helped me develop my voice beyond what I ever thought was possible. Each lesson she challenges me to be the best singer I can be through extensive exercises & working together step by step through songs. I can not recommend Emma highly enough - she will never give up on you, will support you no matter what your goals are & will bring out a voice you never knew you had!

Emma has worked hard, and with endless patience, to turn my loud singing voice into a trained one. She is always cheerful and positive, encouraging me by highlighting each little improvement, especially when my voice is not behaving as it should. Gradually, with exercises tailored to improve my range and breath control, she is rectifying years of bad habits. There is still a long way to go, but with Emma's guidance I have made measurable progress and am confident that I will continue to do so.

Interview with Emma

QUESTION 01 | 08
When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?
Emma — I cannot remember when as it seems music has always been a part of my life! I grew up with musicians for parents so the house was always buzzing with singing, brass, piano, violin, guitar.
QUESTION 02 | 08
Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?
Emma — Any Musical Theatre - it's my passion.
QUESTION 03 | 08
Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.
Emma — I think varying styles and sounds within a song is the most difficult thing to do but also most exciting.
QUESTION 04 | 08
What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?
Emma — Voice! It's so volatile and set within our bodies so many different factors affect its production & quality.
QUESTION 05 | 08
What are your keys to success?
Emma — Determination, pride and strength.
QUESTION 06 | 08
Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.
Emma — More vocalists than musicians...

- Kristin Chenoweth - her versatility is amazing!

- Shirley Bassey - what stage presence and what a voice!

QUESTION 07 | 08

What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?
Emma — I'm really interested in people and the reason they want to sing. I want to help as many people as I can fulfil their dreams, no matter how big or even how small. My lessons are totally structured by what the particular student wants to achieve.
