Andiswa's CV

Work Experience:
In February 2019, I, along with other girls, ran a drive for sanitary products for girls who miss out on their education simply because they cannot afford to purchase hygiene products every month.
In June and July 2019, I helped clean the kennels, pamper the cats, walk the dogs and groom the horses at varies animals shelters in Gauteng, South Africa. I have a ton of love for the animals I spend time with, they all have a terrible and abusive past, which when heard, it makes you wonder how somebody could be so cruel.
In August 2019, I volunteered at Metta Mama & Maggha Foundation in Bali, Indonesia with orphans. I thoroughly enjoyed my time helping care for such beautiful babies and toddlers. I would honestly love to be able to volunteer as my lifetime job, but I wouldn't feel comfortable allowing organisations, such as the ones I volunteer for, have to pay me a salary when that money I receive could go to making someone's life better.
In October 2019, I participated as a volunteer with the organisation known as Santa Shoebox in Southern Africa. The more I give, the happier I end up being, it gives your heart a very warm and accomplished feeling.
Volunteering for me, is a way to escape my life for some time and focus on giving back to the community and the smiles I receive from people make it all worth it.
In November and December 2019, I had the opportunity to partake in Data Analysis in Qualitative Research on behalf on a Professor who is employed by The Durban University of Technology in South Africa.

Hobbies and Interests:
I have been immersed into the musical world since I was four years old when I started playing the piano after I moved from London, England to the state of Indiana, in the United States of America. I have been taking lessons ever since and I am now working on Grade 6 of my piano theory exams. I play modern and classical music, but my favourite genre to play is popular music. After living in America for four years, I relocated to South Africa, where I took private tennis lessons for three years. I love reading novels, particularly genres such as, mystery and romance. One of my favourite novels I have had the opportunity to read is 'The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas'. I particularly like how imagery was strongly shown throughout the book. I love to Ice Skate as it's a time where you can relax and allow your thoughts to float away.

I have a strong interest in volunteer and community work. I find it beautiful that people can come together, with the resources that they are fortunate enough to have and use them to give back to the less fortunate.
The feeling you get when you know that you're making an impact on an individual’s life is highly rewarding, it gives you a sense of love, pride and happiness. I participated in many live shows for Spanish Dance, which I did for four years, which I was able to receive awards for. I partook in many performances, such as Chicago.
