Recognising that each student is different with their own preferred learning methods, I like to focus on the individual needs of my student which is why my first lesson is usually introductory, aimed to understand the student’s way of thinking, and to formulate the appropriate strategy to improve their learning further. While I believe it is crucial to be demanding of effort, my manner of teaching is very calm and pragmatic - the pupil’s understanding is my top priority. I like to make my lessons enjoyable through informative activities designed to involve the student in the lesson, ensuring they understand the material. Finally, while I accept that different pupils have different learning-styles, I think that the value of building relatable associations with the material is common to everyone; so I tend to explain the theory through real-world applications.
I have significant experience in the tutoring field, having worked with primary and secondary school students for 3 years, all of whom receive above their target grades in exams. I myself received a 9 in Maths GCSE (Edexcel), A* in Physics GCSE (AQA) and an A in Additional Maths FSMQ (OCR).
