I would aim to begin a new class or a new topic by going over the basics. After a student feels confident we can just build it up step by step. I’ve always found this to be the best way to learn something from the beginning.
But of course, if there’s anything else in particular you want help with, I’m all ears :)
I’m a sixth form student studying English, German and history at A Level at Dame Alice Owens school (who previously studied maths, triple sciences, art, English, German and history at GCSE at St Albans High School for Girls). I have tutored two primary school students as well as a child in year 8 in English and with general homework help etc. I am confident in Maths and English and I feel I know skills necessary to understand these topics at primary school level and headed into early secondary school. If your child is struggling in English, in particular at primary level, and feel you just need somebody to explain something to you or help go through and practice I’m sure I can be a useful asset
