The world of technology is so vast and continuously growing all the time. It would useless to define one particular area to teach people about tech. Therefore, my teaching method is rather flexible and tailored to every individual.
I'm based in South West London (near Wandsworth & Wimbledon), but willing to commute and can offer remote support.
I'm looking to offer my services and expertise to anyone looking to break into the tech industry, wants to advance their computer skills, or just needs help with a particular problem (i.e. my internet is down). I can't promise I can help you with every problem, but I can offer a space for continuous learning and personal development, while learning a load of computer skills.
A graduate from the University of Exeter offering lessons in computer skills; including website creation & deployment, setting up & maintaining tech in your home (i.e. wifi, smart home etc.), and a range software & hardware skills.
I have been working specifically in software testing for over a year, but have been involved in tech from a young age. In the past I worked as an Operations Manager for a startup business (TickBox), focussing on the advancement of digital democracy in the UK. I'm currently working as a Software Engineer for a UK leading software testing consultancy (Ten10). As such I have built a portfolio of skills and have a wealth of experience working with tech in a business environment.
At the University of Exeter I studied International Relations, and often combined my studies with part-time work and a commitment to various entrepreneurial projects. Now I'm looking to offer my services and expertise to anyone looking to break into the tech industry, wants to advance their computer skills, or just needs help with a particular problem.
Operations Manager (TickBox Solutions LTD.) September 2013 - June 2015
TickBox pioneered the field of digital democracy. In short, the company offered free voting advice and voting services for political and student union elections. Our online platforms distilled the jargon of party politics, and allowed users to search and compare candidates and parties all in one place. As a Founding Member of a startup business, I had a very active role in the day-to-day activities while also focusing on the long-term commercial interests. My commercial responsibilities included searching for new openings to grow and market our ethos and pursue sponsorship opportunities from the university alumni network.
Additionally, my responsibilities as Operations Manager were geared towards the research and delivery of public policy on a project-by-project basis. Typical commercial research involved analysing basic statistical data, and liaising with policy experts and media outlets to understand the most politically controversial policy topics for each election. On the delivery side, I would assist with the editing of political content and potential marketing strategies to produce the best user experience possible. For example, our General Election 2015 project collated policy profiles of every candidate (over 4,000), from every constituency, onto a single online platform, all in under 3 months.
Events Assistant (University of Exeter Students Guild) September 2015 - March 2016
Try Student Start ups is part of the business support unit at the University of Exeter: helping students to try out their business ideas. As events & communications assistant, I would assist in the development of student startups, and regular attend meetings to offer my business experience. My responsibilities also included planning and execution of major events at the university, promoting the scheme through various marketing channels, and analyzing event data to deliver the best possible experience for students.
