I start by finding out what the student aims to get from their lessons so I can structure them accordingly. No two pupils are the same, and I want everyone to love their lessons and feel relaxed and confident. I will start with basic techniques, such as learning to strum chords and read tab to play simple melodies, and aim to get students playing simple tunes in their first lesson. From there, I will either find music within their capability that they're interested in playing or start teaching from the exam syllabus. If anybody needs any songwriting tips, I'd be thrilled to include those in lessons too!'
Ellie Grace is a passionate, patient and caring acoustic guitar tutor. She started playing guitar when she was 10 years old, after receiving a bright pink acoustic for her birthday and wrote her first song on it that day. As she grew up she started having private lessons in guitar, piano, vocals and music theory and constantly wanted to learn more and more about music. She achieved an A* in GCSE music, a B in music technology A-level, Grade 6 music theory and Grade 8 acoustic guitar. She eventually went on to achieve an honours degree in songwriting, which included many elements of music business and performance. Nowadays she performs in various band projects, as well as her own solo artistry, and has been teaching guitar privately since the beginning of 2019.
She’s fully committed to her students and makes sure they’re always having fun and feeling encouraged.
Ellie is very a reliable and professional tutor. She is always super friendly, approachable and I’d highly recommend her to anyone.
