I can also help you with event/festival management, tour booking and label management.
I can also teach skateboarding.
- Tell me about your qualifications.
I have no formal qualificatons in music, however I strongly believe you do not need to have studied music to achieve success.
I currently have 6 Wonk Unit albums in print and digital, all selling.
My record label PLASTERER is now on its 14th release.
- How much do you charge?
£30 for initial 1 hour consultation then a further £30 per hour (travel expenses will be charged on top of this)

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.
Online tutoring works best after an initial face to face consultation has taken place where a rapport has been achieved. Online lesson are priced at the same £30 per hour.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Songwriting is all about being honest. It's such a rewarding freedom to get those emotions out of your soul, onto the page and then out to audiences. I want to hear "you", not who you want to be. Songwriting can be an anarchy, a contradiction, there's no real set patterns. What works once may not work again. Some songs are almost "god given". They'll appear out of nowhere and be done and dusted in 5 minutes, some songs take years (where the basic idea is great but the state of mind isn't quite right to complete the work). We'll look into all of this. Songwriting can be happy and fun but also the saddest, most cathartic experience. A history, a document of time in your life.
- What kind of experience do you have?
25 years of fronting bands and releasing numerous albums, recording and developing songs, touring, managing musicians, dealing with record labels and working in the music industry has giving me a hands on knowledge of all things "rock n roll".
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
- Where and with whom did you train?
Big Life Records - Record label signed to.
M-Zone/Mud Machine - Skateboard/counter culture and fashion distributor.
The Flying Medallions - own band
Wonk Unit - own band
