SpLD Dyslexia/Dyscalculia tutor and assessor offers literacy, study skills and numeracy support

Methodology

Assessment for learning is a vital part of my teaching method. I work with the student to discover main strengths and barriers to learning and then use the strengths to support main areas of difficulty. Developing self awareness (how the difficulty impacts on learning) and confidence in abilities are also important elements of my teaching approach. I teach literacy, numeracy, study skills from GCSE to undergraduate degree and GCSE English Language catch up. Lesson content varies upon need but methods are well researched, multi sensory and effective.

Background

I am a dyslexia specialist teacher and assessor with approximately 20 years experience working with students with SpLDs, ADHD, ASC among other learning differences. I am qualified to Masters level to teach from 5 years to adult. I have worked as a SENDCo in both primary and secondary mainstream schools and have worked for Dyslexia Action tutoring teachers and TAs who are studying to become dyslexia specialists.
