Thanks for coming to view my profile! I'm an experienced teacher with a diverse background as a freelance musician. My teaching philosophy is based around listening and engaging directly with my students' needs and working with them to achieve their goals. These can vary hugely from person to person so I don't believe in a "one size fits all" approach. I'm keen to promote healthy technique and good musicianship alongside the needs of the instrument. Above all, I like to make the lesson an enjoyable experience for whoever requires my services, and I'm very enthusiastic about my job.
I have a decade of music teaching experience, and have worked with all ages and abilities. Aside from my private students, I also work for Hackney Music Service as a music tutor, and I run a Ukulele club at Clapton Park URC. I also run a yearly Christmas choir which people are welcome to join!
I am also a professional piano accompanist, and am available for instrumentalists taking grades or for recitals. Fees vary depending on repertoire required.

“I am very glad that I found Stephanie as my singing teacher. Stephanie is very refreshing as she listens to what her pupil wants to achieve and works with them rather than dictate to them what they should do. She has the rare ability of combining the right degree of being affirmative and encouraging with giving helpful comments and instructions for improvement. I have had two singing teachers before but Stephanie is easily the best. I really enjoy her lessons and would highly recommend her”
“A friend recommended Stephanie to me as a piano teacher for both myself and my son. She's very helpful and concise at explaining things, and always makes us feel at ease”
Stephanie is a great tutor and responded well to emails about setting up a first lesson
