Methodology

My teaching method is to go through exam questions and help the student tackle questions. Moreover give tips and tricks into achieveing full potential and getting those high grades. I believe in learning something with all the senses, this means seeing it visually and hearing it. This means it is retained better. Furthermore i think practise makes all the difference too.

Background

I am an a level student at the top school in the north and achieved A*s at gcse. I am a great communicator and have taught in the past at school. I have been a language leader in which i taught french to younger students. Moreover i have tutored a 18 year old who needed to pass her maths gcse to pursue medicine and i managed to help her achieve that.

Profile
I am hardworking and confident 16-year-old student and aiming high for my future. I achieve well at school and participate in many extra-curricular activities. However, I socialise with friends and family to have a good work/life balance and to develop my social skills.
I’m very patient and have good perseverance when things go wrong for example in drama I have improvised when mistakes have occurred, and I have helped those who struggle and been patient with them. I have good communication skills as I dealt with customers over the phone for my last Saturday job. I’m also a good public speaker in drama and out of school. I have good leadership skills shown in being an anti-bullying ambassador and leading year 6 induction day. I am very ambitious and driven to reach my full potential. I love working in a team and going that extra mile to ensure I have done a good job. Furthermore, I am always willing to learn and improve. I think all these traits contribute towards a successful worker which is why I hope you will accept me for this job.
Education
I attend Altrincham Grammar School for Girls which is one of the top schools in the league table and provides students with many skills needed for the future and prepare well for example, every year we have a careers day where students write CVs and undergo interviews to prepare for future job interviews in the work place.
The GCSEs I took a few months ago were: Maths, English Language, English Literature, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, French, Drama and Religious Studies. My grades ranged from 8-9 (A*). This year I take Maths, Physics and English literature for a level.
Qualifications
I volunteered to go on a course run by Trafford Domestic Abuse Services which helps users recognise symptoms of domestic abuse and how to maintain a healthy relationship with their partner.
I have completed Duke of Edinburgh bronze and I’m planning to do DofE Gold next year. This shows commitment and perseverance.
As a member of 6th Hale girl Guides group, I completed Baden Powell award in which we developed teaching and survival skills at camp which enabled me to become a ranger.
I have completed my Silver arts Award where I taught younger children about drama and improved as an actress myself. In sport, I have attained level 8 in ice-skating which shows dedication and team work skills.
I have also completed a first aid course which is essential for everyone’s safety and health.
I have just completed my grade 6 in piano.
I was chosen to take a physics challenge test which is only offered to top physics students.
Work Experience
I have worked on Saturdays at Hale Barbers where I answered the phone to book in customers, greet them as they come through the door, clean floors and make tea and coffee. This developed my communication skills and helps me become familiar with working environment. Moreover, I handled the pressures of a busy day extremely well.
I have also worked at a petrol station where I helped count the takings in a back office and stacked shelves. This shows my finance skills and adaptability to other environments.
I had work experience for a week at a law firm called Brabners in Manchester where I attended meetings, made notes, wrote articles on cases and completed share forms. This enabled me to develop many different skills and learn about law as that is the career I want to pursue.
Moreover, I worked at another solicitors- Hills and Co for a week where I helped at reception with admin.
I did voluntary work at Blue Cross Charity Shop in Hale for 6 months, which I helped at the counter, stocked up and tidied the shop.
I also do voluntary work at Salvation Army where I help customers and serve at the till. |Furthermore, I stock clothing and tag items.
I worked at Bistrot Pierre as a waitress where I welcomed and greeted customers and took them to their tables where I took orders and engaged in conversation. Moreover, I served food and tidied tables. I must be friendly, approachable and confident. I played a part in a team and connect with people.
I did a week of work experience at Cavendish-press which is a press agency where I shadowed a reporter in court cases and observed trials and sentences in action and gained more knowledge on how judges and barristers act.
I volunteer the Garrick theatre where I welcome audience members, take tickets and clean the area to carry on my love for theatre.
Currently, I work at home bargains where I stock products, give good customer service, have a good understanding of the products and sales floor and very self-motivated to be constantly doing something.

Activities and Achievements
At school, I served for a year as school councillor and participated in debates about introducing trousers as a part of the school uniform and coming up with ideas to decorate the health and wellbeing room. This work required communication skills to feed back to my form, the confidence in talking in assemblies, reliability for the form to depend on me and listening skills in taking on my form’s ideas.
I was a Language Leader helping teach French to younger pupils which develops teaching and communication skills.
I am also an antibullying ambassador and one of my tasks is to help the new year 7 pupils due to join the school in September to feel safe and welcome. I had to be friendly, helpful and approachable for young people.
I serve on the school’s charity committee and help organise fund raising events including cake sales and making ploughman’s lunches.
I have been a member of dance group at the Garrick Theatre and completed grade 2 ballet, tap and modern dance.
I was an active member of Altrincham Creative Theatre School Drama group for the past 5 years and have performed in several One Act Festivals I Wilmslow, Cheadle and Glossop. I also won young actress award at Glossop.
Every week I play ice hockey at Silver Blades ice rink in Altrincham and tennis at Bowdon Bowling and Lawn tennis club.
I did a 10-week LAMDA course where I developed my skills in verse, prose and drama. I gained further speaking, listening and performance skills.
I have completed my NCS course in which I learnt many different skills e.g. communication, presenting, planning and budgeting.
