I've found that the most effective method of teaching is to immediately follow up any learning with practice, e.g. exercises or an activity, as this tends to cement the lesson in a students brain. This is how I planned many of my lessons in France.
As part of the French half of my degree, I had to spend a year abroad. I spent my year working as an English language assistant in a French High School. I worked with students aged 16-21 with varying levels of English.
