I try to gain an insight into the student personally to try and understand what type of teaching they would respond best to- on a more technical level I believe it is important to highlight areas of weakness and address these by building understanding with practice and communication
I am currently in sixth form having achieved 11 A star grades at GCSE (two of which in Englihs langauge and literature,) and I currently study English at higher level as part of my IB Diploma. I am now starting to offer private tuition this summer to try and learn more about teaching and learning as a whole concept. I am hoping to build good relationships and try and both build and provide knowledge.

Dan Russell CV
At the age of 11, Dan joined Whitgift School in Croydon on an all-round scholarship (sport and academia) and finished Year 11 with eleven GSCE and IGCSE's . These included six core subjects of Maths, two English’s and three sciences, History, Philosophy, Economics, French and German. Dan was able to achieve the best possible grades of 11 A*’s. He is currently in the sixth form, doing the International Baccalaureate, studying English, German and Economics at Higher Level, and French, Maths and Chemistry at Standard Level.
Dan plays a lot of sport in his spare time, having previously played football at an academy level and at a very high standard. This has helped create a competitive mind-set and has allowed him learn the importance of hard work and also the different aspects of performance, which can be applicable in all walks of life.
Recently, Dan did work experience at GetFeedback, where he shadowed and learnt from director Alison Gill during some of her meetings and work in London at the Financial Times Building. He also went into the company’s office in Henley and worked with sales, marketing and operational aspects of the business.
The following is a reference written by Ms Gill:
To whom it may concern
Dan Russell worked for the team at Getfeedback.net Ltd for work his experience. During his time with us he worked with different parts of the business (operations, sales and marketing and, working directly for the CEO) and delivered some important and useful pieces of work.
Dan demonstrated considerable social and emotional intelligence, handling himself well and, building good relations with different parts of the business and with clients. He showed himself to be confident and capable to mix and converse easily. He fitted in well with the team, working effectively as part of a group.
Dan also demonstrated his ability to work on his own, using his initiative to deliver a piece of research for the CEO. With very little help he got to grips with the topic and produced a meaningful piece of analysis with little support.
Perhaps most notable was Dan's interest to learn as much as he could during his time with us. He showed considerable interest in everything he was asked to do and took initiative to get things done.
I would happily recommend Dan.
