I will structure my lessons based on what the student is struggling with. First, I will recap on a simple question in that topic, then try a few past paper questions, then finish with a challenging question. All learning should be a positive experience and I show this through positive reinforcement.
I have been tutoring students between the ages of 11-15 in Maths for a year, including helping train students in regional maths competitions. I achieved 11A* grades at GCSE and A*A*A at A level in Maths, Music and Further Maths respectively.

I am a very enthusiastic 18-year-old who enjoys the sort of work where people interact and work as a team. I am very determined, academic and love a challenge. I am very keen to tutor students in Mathematics and Further Mathematics - whatever standard they may be. I also am able to teach how to play the piano, from beginners to more advanced learners.

I have just started studying Music at the University of Leeds. For A Levels, I studied Maths, Music and Further Maths, achieving A*A*A respectively. At GCSE level, I achieved 11A* grades, including a 9 in Maths and an A* in Further Maths. During my time at secondary school, I founded a further maths club, where I taught 15-year olds in preparation for regional competitions. To pursue my passion for music, I arranged music for the school’s brass band. This piece was then performed at the Senior Concert.
From July 2016 to present, I have worked at various different cafes in my hometown, Tunbridge Wells. During this time, I learnt how to deal well under pressure and have acquired many life skills. I thoroughly enjoyed interacting with customers and picking up new skills around the kitchen as well.
In the past, I have set up two businesses to raise money for my cultural exchange to India. One was a car washing business for neighbours, friends and family. Another was at school where I set up my own sticky-back plastic business, charging my peers to give me their books to take home and to make them look immaculate. I have helped my father with his work at the BBC where I picked up many useful professional skills, for example how to plan finance and organise paper work. In July 2017, I completed a four day work experience course in the media union BECTU. Here I learnt lots about workers’ rights and how to be productive in an office.
Along with my academic interests, I thoroughly enjoy music for leisure. I completed my grade 8 piano exam in July 2018, achieving distinction. I have picked up drumming in the last few years and although I haven’t taken any exams, I play to a grade 6 standard. At home, I was a member of 6 choirs, within and outside my school. Throughout my time in year 13, I completed many musical events. I played percussion in my school’s production of Into the Woods, I premiered a new mass for 6 female voices and orchestra titled Southfield Mass (singing 3rd alto) and I organised my school’s leaver’s concert - performing my own composition - just to name a few.
A hobby that my family share is travelling. I adore going to new cities and exploring new cultures. In 2016, I took part in a cultural exchange with my school to India for three weeks where I learnt a lot about myself, others and different cultures. I 2017, I spent 10 days away in Uganda with my family where we did charity work. This included manual work where we built a two bedroom house, agricultural work to help local farmers and teaching Literacy at the local primary school. My family and I also sponsor a six year old girl who is in primary education so meeting her and her family for the first time was a very rewarding experience.
