In tutoring I split the sessions up in to three sections. The first being the revision part where we go over what we did in the previous session to ensure we know it. Then we have the explanation side where we discuss a topic and the knowledge required. Finally we have the application part where we answer questions and put what we learnt to the test.
After tutoring for a year and providing online revision material for almost three I have found what works for students and what doesn't ( generally). Two students I have been tutoring this year have achieved As and Bs in their mock exams.

I achieved 11 As and 3 A* at GCSE level before progressing on and achieving 3As in biology, chemistry and physics as well as a B in maths at As level.
