About Finn
I’m a math tutor with over 2 years of experience and a BSc in Mathematics for Data Science. I support middle school learners who are struggling with the early stages of algebra. My main teaching areas are linear equations, polynomial expressions, and functions. I like breaking lessons into very clear learning blocks. Puzzles help students feel excited rather than overwhelmed. Real-life examples show how algebra solves real problems. I work with many learning styles—visual, verbal, and hands-on. Helping students overcome math anxiety is one of my biggest goals. I encourage confidence even when results are small. I love seeing students build independence over time. My role is to guide, support, and motivate. Algebra doesn’t have to be scary. It can feel achievable and even fun!

My teaching style centers on structured guidance and student confidence. I teach math through detailed step-by-step explanation, ensuring students fully understand every part of a problem. Subjects include algebra, pre-calculus, calculus foundations, functions, geometry, and number theory basics. I place high value on logical reasoning, and each lesson includes tasks that strengthen analytical decision-making. Students learn to interpret questions before solving them, which eliminates rushed mistakes. I use real-world examples like travel, business, engineering ideas, and coding patterns. These examples help simplify big ideas. Problem-solving exercises and puzzles help students develop long-term memory and thinking independence. Exam takers receive structured lesson paths and confidence sessions to prepare for test environments. Career switchers are guided with care and clarity to rebuild their math foundation. I encourage learning without fear—questions are always welcome. I help students practice self-checking and improvement strategies. Confidence grows as learners see progress in their own thinking. I believe math is not just numbers; it is a mindset. Through patience and structure, my approach helps every student think smarter, plan better, and enjoy mathematics.
