I am a computer science undergraduate and I intend to give lessons on maths all the way up to A level. Allow the student fully to understand the technique used for a specific topic and the where it came from. Then help them apply the know by awsering various types of questions in various scenarios.
I belive then any student can achieve any grade possible but that depends on the amount of work and strategy put into the subject.
Taught GCSE student while taking a level maths, physics and further maths. I taught two students. I achived an A for maths, C for Physics and a D for further maths in A level. Participated in the British physics olypiad for as physics.
Currently pursuing a degree in computer science. I teach maths all the way up to A level My problem solving skills were pushed to their boundaries with the British physics Olympiad. Achieved a grade. Preparing for the competition gave me an insight in to some physics concepts that the average person wouldn’t even consider such as why do we cut bread at an angle instead of cutting it straight.
I was nominated with to be in a group of mathematicians to be a candidate for my six form in the maths challenge which could in turn lead to the mathematic Olympiad. The experience pushed my mathematical ability to its limit with novel question that require you to have in depth understand rather than just memorising a mathematical concept. This gave me incentive to start understanding through constant practice in a topic and seeking help if need be. Strong theoretical knowledge in object-oriented programming. Therefore, I am familiar with instantiation, inheritance, classes, behaviours and properties. My theoretical knowledge is complemented with practical knowledge of object-oriented languages programming by using python. My research skills have improved greatly through the Nuffield project. The project given was on artificial intelligence and nanotechnology.
