Hi I'm Tom and I'm a second year A-Level student at a Sutton Coldfield Grammar School.
I am currently taking Maths, Economics and Geography with predicted grades of A*A*A.
I intend to study Economics at a top Russell Group University- offers from Durham, Bath, Exeter & Loughborough.
My knowledge base is extensive and covers a wide range of subjects (A* in 2 languages, all 3 sciences, 2 humanities and maths at GCSE) which means that I am more than happy to teach multiple subjects.
Teaching would include:
• Covering any content the student finds particularly tricky
• Setting questions/past papers and marking them
• The subsequent lesson following up on the student's areas to improve and aiming to turn them into strengths
My A-Level subjects are my primary areas, I also have FSMQ Additional Maths to grade A and have extensive knowledge in economics and geography, to A* A-Level Standard.
I am a good communicator with years experience of working with children (coaching and mentoring).
I typically help the pupil enjoy the subject which ultimately motivates them to do well: you will see results.
I have various different experiences in teaching:
2 years mentoring struggling maths students at my school one-to-one and there has been a marked improvement.
Tutoring my brother at GCSE level in maths, geography, biology, chemistry, physics
7 cumulative years experience of teaching outside the classroom, coaching tennis and athletics, which has given me invaluable softer skills and the ability to communicate effectively and motivate children.
Personal Statement: I am a hardworking, committed and reliable individual who utilises a strong will to persevere and adopts a proactive approach in everything that I do.

I am genuinely interested in economics therefore I aim to study this at one of the leading Russell Group Universities. Also, I enjoy learning Spanish and this is something that I hope to use in the future. Sport is also a vital part of my life.
My recent work placement in the credit-risk area of a Challenger Bank has enabled me to see how mathematical modelling is used in financial services and also how macroeconomic indicators impact the decision-making of a firm. Such work placements have provided me with vital workplace skills and instilled a desire within me to explore this working environment further.
I am the school’s Cross Country Captain and I compete for both the school and Royal Sutton Coldfield Athletics Club in both track and cross-country. I have represented the West Midlands in this also. As well as my coaching role, I play for Streetly Tennis Club against other clubs.
I am achieved my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award this year, having already achieved Bronze & Silver.
Tom has superb understanding of his subjects particularly maths and economics. This coupled with his innate ability to relate to his pupils makes him an excellent tutor. His help will really improve both understanding and confidence! I would definitely recommend him.
Tom helped me so much with my studies. I was really struggling with supply, demand and equilibrium, however, Toms logical explanations and methods made answer structures clear and accessible. I’ve never been confident with the maths side of economics but because of Toms support, I’ve seen a massive improvement in myself. Thank you !!
