About the lesson
I offer clarinet, flute, saxophone and recorder tuition and I have a special interest in providing music tuition to children and young people who experience special educational needs (SEN) or additional needs.
- Which subject(s) do you teach?
I offer individual lessons on the clarinet, flute, saxophone and recorder. I prepare students for ABRSM, ABRSM Jazz and Trinity Guildhall examinations. In addition to instrumental tuition I aim to support the development of my students' creativity through activities including improvisation, composition (using improvisation and notation) musical games and song.

BMus (Hons) Music degree from Goldsmiths, University of London
Music Therapy Masters degree from Roehampton University.
- How much do you charge?
I charge £12 for a 30 minute individual lesson and £18 for a 45 minute lesson. I offer a free trial lesson.
- Where do you teach?
I teach mainly from home but I am willing to consider traveling to students' homes. I work in south-east London.
- When are you available?
I am available on Monday and Thursday from 3.30pm and Saturday morning.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I am happy to teach all ages and skills - complete beginners are very welcome.
- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?
I prepare students for ABRSM, ABRSM Jazz and Trinity Guildhall examinations.
- Do you have a personal message for students?
Learning an instrument can be a wonderful way to learn new skills, increase your confidence and meet new people. I feel privileged as a teacher to accompany my students on their individual musical journeys and see where they go!

About Tara
- What kind of experience do you have?
I have been a general woodwind teacher since 2002. I have worked privately in schools in west London and for Essex Music Service. I have experience teaching individual and group lessons with students of all ages. I currently work for Sutton Music Service and Redbridge Music Service. I prepare students for instrumental, GCSE and A-level examinations and I am involved in supporting ensemble work. I teach music theory to grade 5 standard and I am a tutor for Whole Class Instrumental Tuition projects in Sutton.
Since 2009 I have also worked as a music therapist with children and young people aged 3 - 19.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I have enhanced disclosure CRB from both of my current employers.
- Do you belong to any professional organisations?
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC registration number AS13610) and I am a member of the British Association of Music Therapy (BAMT).
