Hi. My name is Sindre, and I have 6 years of experience as a private music teacher.
In my experience, the most important factor for successful learning is to keep lessons fun and inspiring. That’s why I source material that my students want to play.
I am the founder of a music tuition service called Beyond Music. On that platform, I write regularly about music teaching to educate other tutors. I also write about accelerated learning and memorisation techniques. My interest in learning and skill acquisition is reflected in my teaching and the advice I give to my students.
Learning and education is something I care deeply about.
What makes me stand out as a tutor is my dedication to providing an all-encompassing learning experience for my students. Progressing on an instrument is not only about what happens in the lessons. What happens in between lessons are equally important. That’s why I focus on this as well.
This is what lessons with me are like:
- I make thorough notes after each lesson where I explain what to practise, how to practise it and sometimes why (depending on the student).
- I prepare each lesson carefully.
- I communicate clearly both to students and parents about how the lessons are going.
- I regularly check up with my students to make sure we are heading in the right direction.
I graduated from Rose Bruford College of Theatre & Performance in 2015 with BA (Hons) in Actor-Musicianship. Before this, I completed my A-level course in Music, Dance & Drama in Norway and a one-year theatre course at Romerike College, Norway.
I prepare my students for university and music/theatre auditions as well as ABRSM grade exams.
So far I have had over 50 students. Those who have gone through graded exams have all done so with a 100% pass rate.
I have a wide experience performing in several ensembles in a variety of styles. As a result of this experience, I have a considerable understanding of different musical styles and can teach all of them in a way that can be understood by both children and adults. Because of my long career as a performer, I can also give you some valuable insights into the skill of performing.
If this sounds good, I would love to hear from you!
My rates are:
£45 per hour
£40 for 45 minutes
£30 for 30 minutes
I offer 25% off the first lesson.
Sindre has been teaching Guitar to our son Leonardo for over two years.
We are extremely happy with Sindre’s ability to teach, engage and keep his interest always high.
Sindre is a multi-talented artist, he plays and teaches several instruments, and he has many other artistic talents (we went to see him performing at a play where he combined playing with acting, which was brilliant).
He possessed all the classical musical knowledge required but also a very unique and effective approach: he has ability to mould is teachings around his pupil. As a result, my son has made great progress with his guitar but also developed a passion for the instrument and for music in general.
Sindre’s own passion for learning, working hard and achieve, together with his talent in many disciplines make him a great role model for our son.
Sindre is a lovely person to deal with, talented, passionate, hard working and rigorously reliable.
My son and I recommend Sindre very highly.
Sindre has been teaching my 11 year old daughter guitar for the past year.
Sindre is an excellent teacher, very inspirational, creative and clever. He combines piano and singing into the lessons as a natural teaching element. I would not hesitate to give him my best recommendations.

Sindre is a warm and patient teacher that enables the student to feel comfortable straight away. His patience and enthusiastic attitude combined with encouragement has made my son very eager to learn piano, and he progresses very quickly. He is also very reliable and punctual. I have every confidence in his knowledge and skill and as a musician and teacher, and I would recommend him to anyone.
I have known Sindre for many years, and I was his teacher in his early years of learning the piano. Later, after he grew up, I worked with Sindre on different projects and concerts. He has won several prizes for his multi-instrumental abilities.
A lot of my younger students looked up to Sindre as he grew up, and he has been a great inspiration for them. He is extremely kind and empathic and a really fun person to be around.
Sindre is an exceptional and reliable piano teacher to our 5 year old. He is very warm and patient and makes the lessons fun and interactive. Our child always looks forward to his lessons and he always gives practical easy to follow advice on how best to improve.
