I prefer the student-centered approach to teaching as it enables students to understand their own learning style. I prefer to make connection with real life situations as it is relevant to students and they gain more interest. I ensure I build up a good rapport with my students to increase confidence and motivation to learn. I like to focus on all four language learning skills which are speaking, listening, reading and writing to ensure students improve their pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar skills.
I am a final year student at the University of Central Lancashire. I study TESOL and German and have taught over 20 mixed ability adult learners from various countries for the past two years. I have also taught on a one-to-one basis and have given my students confidence in all areas necessary for language learning. I have been a language learner myself therefore I understand the anxieties around language learning and can motivate and encourage learners to reach their full potential.
