My usual method is to go through homework or unfinished classwork with the students and guide them through it; explaining the parts they may not understand and then helping them as they attempt to complete the assignment. I also provide some practice papers and worksheets so they can practice newly learned concepts - which is the key to understanding maths and physics.
I have been tutoring for 2+ years helping students exceed their expectations in maths at GCSE. My year at school was the first to complete the new Maths GCSE in which I attained a Grade 9. In addition, I did a separate maths qualification in which I got the highest attainable grade. I have just completed my A Levels in Physics, Maths and Further Maths to start an engineering degree in the autumn (results pending!).
