My objective is always to carefully assess each student's level of ability and attainment before formulating lesson plans that will best help them reach their targets. Making lessons both enjoyable and rewarding is always a priority.

- Do you have a personal message for students?
The tutoring style I've developed over many years is designed to suit the needs and requirements of each individual student according to their age, already-acquired level of attainment and reason for learning so that he or she is able to realise his or her full potential in an effective and enjoyable way.
- What kind of experience do you have?
My experience is exclusively as a private tutor, mostly travelling to students' homes. I have also hosted lessons at my own home. To this point I've tutored students ranging in age from 4 years old through to teenagers and those in their twenties preparing for GCSE, A' Level or university exams as well as students of more senior years wishing to learn a language for the first time (perhaps due to having bought holiday property abroad) or who simply wish to reacquaint themselves with a language they last encountered when at school.
- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?
I don't since I've worked exclusively as a private tutor. I can provide references and testimonials upon request.
• BA Hons French
Tim has shown patience, humour and linguistic skill in equal measure for the past 5 months. He has taken my rusty, 40 year old unused school French and has enabled me to speak with confidence at business meetings in Paris and with my French in laws. You can teach an old dog new tricks! I find it easy to recommend him to you.
Tim has been teaching my daughter guitar for 2 years. I would highly recommend him. My daughter now plays really well and it's all down to Tim's patience and excellent teaching. He also helped my son prepare for his GCSE French last summer. I would highly recommend Tim as a French tutor.
In seeking the right tutor I was, above all, keen to have the opportunity to improve my command of the spoken word together with the supporting grammar. In Tim, I found the perfect combination of a patient and knowledgeable guide, from whom I have learned so much. My confidence in being able to converse 'off the cuff' has increased greatly over the intervening 18 months.
