I like starting with the basics and build up knowledge as we go along. I usually start the lesson with explaining what the topic is as well as some real life applications of the topic discussed. I would have a PowerPoint presentation to go along the lesson and save any questions till the end of the PowerPoint. At the end of the lesson, I finish off with exams sryle questions so students can see how that topic can be used in exams and mark the questions as we go along.
