Having loved learning my entire life, I always want to inspire the same enthusiasm for knowledge in anyone I teach. The majority of my teaching experience comes from students of GCSE or A Level, however I would also be able to teach undergraduates looking for extra guidence on essay writing, referencing or presentations.
Lesson structure varies depending on what the student requires however at the root is the need to equip a student with the ability to critically assess what is being asked of them, to give them confidence in their own ability to succeed.
Many lessons in schools can feel uninspiring and uninteresting. The value of a tutor lies in the strength of a tailor made one to one lesson that can motivate and encourage in a way a class lesson fails. One size does not fit all and every person is different and learns differently.
I have a lot of experience working with kids from a wide variety of backgrounds and learning abilities from starting off as a Cub Scout leader as a teenager and moving to tutoring part time through my undergraduate degree. The majority of my tutoring has revolved around exam preparation, clarification and differentiation of tasks in order for the student to reach their full potential.
