I am a visual learner who finds mindmaps and flashcards useful, so I like to use these techniques when teaching. However, everyone learns in a different way and I am able to adapt my technique to suit each individual student.
I also like to strip down tricky concepts into their fundamental ideas, which makes learning more manageable. I am very patient, and have absolutely no issue explaining something multiple times or adapting my explanations to help clarify a topic.
Once a solid grounding in a subject has been achieved, I like to go through exam questions and model answers to help my students attain the highest grade possible.
I am currently a second year medical student studying at UCL. I have tutored younger students in French and Biology whilst in secondary school at North London Collegiate School, and have also spent two weeks teaching students abroad in Madagascar as part of a volunteering scheme. Having recently been through the process myself, I am also able to give advice and help on medical school applications, from writing personal statements to performing well in interviews.
