I studied psychology, biology and chemistry A-level and got 3 A*s so will be happy to teach these at GCSE level as well as psychology at A-level since I am now studying this for my degree. I adapt my lessons to cover whatever the student needs help with. I will normally try and get the student to think about a concept in a way that is clear to them before getting them to complete exam questions to solidify what they have learnt.
I am a first year UCL student studying psychology, who's been tutoring one student for two years. I taught chemistry and biology GCSE and my student exceeded his targets of grade 5s in both to get a grade 7 in both.

I think most people would say that my most admirable trait is my drive. When I’ve set myself a goal or have a task to complete, I get it done and do it to the best of my ability. I believe that I am an abstract thinker; I often see problems in a different way to people and therefore can adapt and overcome them more easily. As well as this, I think I come across as approachable and friendly which makes people feel comfortable around me and allows me to work in teams well.

I have recently started BSc Psychology degree at UCL. I’m enjoying the course and hoping my academic success will continue in the future.
On numerous occasions, I have been recognised for my academic achievements and effort. In year 12 receiving awards for my work in chemistry, psychology as well as a prestigious pastoral award. Again in year 13, I received an award for my achievements in psychology.
I tutored a GCSE student in maths and chemistry for a year and a half, helping him to achieve a 7 in each, significantly above his targets. This not only shows my ability to develop good working relationships but my drive to go above and beyond what is expected of me.
I had two weeks of work experience in a psychology lab at UCL during my A-levels which was an amazing opportunity and has inspired me to become a researcher in the field of psychology in the future
I was a volunteer at a Cancer Research store during A levels, usually at the till. This shows my ability to deal with customers and cooperate with a team of colleagues.
For 3 years during secondary school I delivered a paper round every morning for my local newsagent, demonstrating my commitment and dedication to my job.
I have also been involved in football coaching for children, which highlights how can I apply my skills to a versatile range of situations.
I have also worked part-time for a catering company called High Society in which I serve and host for formal and extravagant dinners and events.
One of my main interests is sport. I’m a dedicated football fan and player and have been from a young age. I also enjoy running and trying new sports. For example, at UCL I have joined the ultimate frisbee and badminton clubs. I also have a keen interest in music, I love getting to see my favourite artists live in concert. Whenever I can, I try and find somewhere new to travel to because I love experiencing new culture, food and experiences.
