About the lesson

Whilst taking National 5 and Higher Maths and Sciences I developed a range of techniques to help revise and breakdown the course. By isolating each individual topic from the rest of the course I was able to focus on areas of weakness. This allowed me to improve my overall performance as I wasn't just revising the topics I could stroll through.

I will look to work with the methods of teaching already taught to the student however by incorporating my own techniques I will look to help break down the method, explaining each step individually, to achieve maximum understanding.

Using gathered resources I would look to have a section of each lesson for questions regarding the particular topic. This will allow the student time to ask for help whilst reinforcing the method for answering each question. As the student grows more comfortable within the particular topic area I would look to set 3 questions each lesson to ensure continual reinforcement takes place.

I had my difficulties in particular topic areas as has everyone however with continual revision I grew in confidence and succeded to my maximum potential.

About Harry

I am a current undergraduate studying Business & Economics at the University of Stirling. As a former student (2013-19) of St. Ninian`s High School, I too experienced the benefits of having a tutor, to nurture and help shape my studies. I am therefore aware of the appreciation of time given to support a child`s development. Having left school with several Advanced Highers, A and B grade, I took a gap year, embarking on a volunteering expedition to Tanzania. Here, I pick up the native Swahili, whilst constructing school sanitary facilites. This was in addition to leading school lessons on the importance of hygiene. This experience was by far the best of my life, encouraging me to make up my mind on a line of work and study, that one day will enable me to go back and contribute further to communities.
