Rita's CV

Cellist Rita Moutinho, born in Porto, Portugal, started musical studies at the age of ten at the Academia de Música de Costa Cabral with Melanie Paula. In 2015, she continued her studies at ARTAVE - Escola Profissional Artística do Vale do Ave in the class of Pétia Samardjieva. Rita finished the professional course in 2018, and was offered a place at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (London) in the class of Stefan Popov. Rita has performed solo and chamber music performances in some of the most prestigious halls in Porto, Santo Tirso and Lisbon.
She has been invited to participate in masterclasses with teachers such as Alexander Sasha, Paulo Gaio Lima, Jaroslav Mikus, Miguel Rocha, Filipe Quaresma, Jed Barahal and Stefan Popov.
As a member of the Orquestra ARTAVE and Orquestra APROARTE she has had the opportunity to work with many renowned maestros, including Luís Machado, Luís Carvalhoso, José Eduardo Gomes, Roland Dahinden, David Bruchez, Peter Askim, Rafa Agulló Albors, Benoit Fromanger, Maxime Tortelier, Carlos Garcés Fuentelsaz and James Blair.
In chamber music, she worked under the guidance of several performers like Luís Machado, Pétia Samardjieva, Krzysztof Smietana, Oscar Perks (Dante Quartet), Andrew Watkinson, Ralph de Souza (both in Endellion Quartet), Jacqueline Ross, Roberto González-Monjas, Ursula Smith and Oliver Heath (Heath Quartet).
