I am a student at The London School of Economics studying Mathematics with Economics. At a level I achieved A*s in Further Maths, Maths and Physics. And an A in Chemistry
As a tutor I like to work through past exam questions with students, specifically targeting their weak areas. Doing so allows students to improve their knowledge of the subject as well as building the skills needed to answer exam style questions. Should you choose to have lessons with me, we will begin by working out what it is you may struggle with and what topics you are confident with. I can use this to find questions and material best suited to helping you improve.
During my first year of A levels I worked in a struggling GCSE class helping students to push their grades up towards a C/B. I would sit with students and guide them with questions, or topics they were having difficulties with.
Whilst in my 2nd year I tutored a year 11 student aiming to push his grade from a B to an A. We would meet twice a week to discuss and tackle issues he was having, greatly improving, not only his grade, but his overall understanding of Maths.
I am currently studying at the London School of Economics for a BSc in Mathematics with Economics. At A-level I studied: Maths (A*), Further Maths (A*), Physics (A*) and Chemistry (A).
During my A- Level studies I acted as a teaching assistant in a GCSE class of struggling students, where I would provide help to overcome any difficulties the students had.
As well as helping in the GCSE class I also tutored a younger student one to one several mornings a week, in preparation for his Mathematics GCSE.
Personal interests and information:
A big interest of mine is cricket, having started the sport at age 5, I played for my local club, and on two occasions, I was selected for the North Essex squad. Whilst at my local club I would often get involved with coaching the younger players. Helping improve their bowling and fielding.
Alongside playing for my club I often partake in charity cricket matches. Where I represent the Clacton Relay for Life team.
On two occasions I have completed charity walks up Mount Snowdon, to raise awareness for testicular cancer, in association with ‘Everyman’ and ‘The Testicle Tour’.
