Hello! My name is Afreen and I have a degree in Human Biology. I give lessons to students in all years of school and undergraduates. This includes primary school, secondary school, GCSE's, AS levels and A levels.
I am a very good tutor, students I have taught before have made a lot of progress and I found it very rewarding watching them succeed. I can do sessions for as long as you want them to be. I can weekdays and weekends all day starting from 1st September.
My teaching methods include first assessing what topics you want to be taught, which topics you might struggle with slightly and creating a plan for how I am going to teach. I will happily accept your input into what goals you would like to achieve. Then following this plan, I will set different goals for each session and I will make sure by the end of the session that you meet these goals, even if it means running over the session time. I am the kind of tutor who doesn't mind staying longer than I am paid for because I wouldn't want to leave without doing my job properly.
I will also create homework based on the content taught in the session and give you homework at the end of each session. The homework will not be too intensive or time-consuming, it will mainly recap what was taught in the previous session. I will collect this at the start of the next session and mark it in my spare time. The reason I do this is to ensure that you don't forget what was taught in the session and it ensures that what you have learned stays with you. Homework will also allow me to track your progress and perhaps edit the plan I would have initially created, to fill in any gaps in your understanding and make sure that you meets the all important goals that we want you to meet. I will do my utmost to give you everything you need to succeed :)
I have taught GCSE students for 2 years whilst I was in sixth form, I have tutored A level students for 3 years whilst I was in university.
My students generally improved by 2 letter grades. Depending on how hard you want to push you and how willing you are to work hard, I can help you improve by more than this :)
She taught me AS biology and helped me get an A. I hope with her help I can get an A in year 13 now. She is a really organised tutor she always marks my homework on time with corrections so I can learn from my mistakes. she keeps my stuff in a folder and always is ready for our sessions with a plan on what she's going to do, she's really determined and makes sure we get a lot done in our sessions. She also stays a little longer than the 2 hour sessions I book with her, she does that quite often because she wants to make sure I understand everything and we finish before she goes. She is patient and doesn't rush me
