I tutor with subject specific resources tailored to each students queries/needs. I offer working through questions/past papers to solidify subject knowledge and to help students come up with methods to make future problem solving easier! Any problems students have I will look into prior to lessons to find/create appropriate resources and information. I deliver my lessons in a fun and engaging way so students can take a lot away from lessons.
I am currently graduating in BSc Mathematics with computing at the University of Leeds. I have achieved a score of 100% in mathematics at A2 level, including modules in core matheamtics, mechanics and statistics. I have plenty of experience tutoring and working within schools/sixthforms from ages 11-17 with a wide range of ability. Hard working and very friendly with a bank of resources to help further develop mathematical ability.
Studying Mathematics with Computing, Leeds (September 2015 to Present):
I am graduating with a degree in BSc Mathematics with Computing. I am also experienced at coding in Python through studying Computational Mathematics and Coding Theory of which i achieved a 72% grade average. My dissertation involves solving differential equations on python and creating accurate codes to do so. I have also undertook modules in Statistics meaning I am competent at using and analysing data. Throughout the entire duration of my degree I studied core modules, including vector calculus, partial differential equations and Calculus of variations.
Farnborough Sixthform College, Hampshire (2012-2014):
Grades achieved at sixthform (A2 level) include an A* in mathematics where i achieved 100% in my modules. I also achieved an A in French and a B in further mathematics. I undertook modules in core mathematics, mechanics, further mechanics, statistics and decision.
Maths into Schools (September 2016 – June 2017):
I used to volunteer in a secondary school once a week in Bradford where I worked with low ability pupils and pupils with learning difficulties. I offered 1-1 support to students with learning difficulties and also helped students with challenging behaviour. I planned and ran activities for the other students to help encourage them learn mathematics in a fun and motivating fashion.
Group Coordinator - Chateau d’Ebblinghem, Northern France (May 2015 – August 2015):
During the summer of 2015 I was employed in Northern France at a children’s activity centre as a “Group Coordinator” in which I was responsible for accompanying guests (pupils and teachers) on excursions, serving evening meals and delivering a programme of evening activities. During my time at the centre, I received ‘exceeded enthusiasm’ on every group feedback form.
Maths Tutor- Farnborough Sixthform College, Hampshire (September 2013 – June 2014):
During my time at Sixthform I tutored struggling Sixthform students in core and optional mathematics modules. I tailored lessons to each pupils specific needs and their best method of learning. I also created additional resources to enhance students learning.
French Club- Cove School, Hampshire (September 2013 – June 2014):
As well as tutoring in maths, at Sixthform I ran a French club for KS3 students to help improve their French language ability. I created games, drama productions and workshops to encourage students and supported low ability students to increase their confidence.
