As an Oxford student, I am used to working within the tutorial system and thus have a discussion-focused style of teaching. In lessons, students may be expected to discuss an essay they have written prior to it, or argue for a given position. Alternatively, if a student wants to gain greater knowledge in a particular area, I can explain concepts as well as their advantages and disadvantages before encouraging engagement.
I have been giving private lessons for over three years, teaching students at pre-GCSE, GCSE, and A-level. Apart from teaching, I also run a philosophy discussion group at Oxford, as well as attending seminars in various areas to keep up to date with the latest research.

University of Oxford reading Mathematics and Philosophy
Allie has been fantastic - it was obvious from our first lesson that she both loves the subject and is extremely sympathetic to problems people have learning it. I'm not really a maths person, but she was able to bring things into the discussion that I actually found interesting and helped me see maths as more than just memorizing steps. She knows the syllabus really well, and was very good at discerning which parts I needed the most help with and focusing on them. Overall a great experience.
