I am able to teach students up to A-level standard in Biology and Chemistry. I not only took these myself, but also continued to further my education in these subjects during my Dentistry degree, that I am currently studying for, at the University of Manchester. As well as these sciences I also studied Geography and so have a vast knowledge of current case studies and the theory behind these. When teaching I like to work closely with the specification ensuring that all points are covered thoroughly, and then putting this knowledge to test in practice paper questions. I feel that I am friendly and approachable person, and as an A-level student myself not long ago I am able to sympathise with students and know how important it is to make sure that you are able to understand a concept.
I have taught others before, not only academically, but to ride horses. Although the actual concept may be different I understand how dynamic teaching that is able to adapt to each individual is the best way to help someone learn something. As well as this a friendly and open approach to each subject is important to ensure that ant weaknesses can be addressed before they become a large problem. Working with a University run listening service to train new volunteers has also shown me that not only must information be clear but also delivered in a fun and engaging manner, as this way it is retained for longer.
