I have always been talented when it comes to Mathematics, as I was awarded the year 11 trophy for Mathematics, as well as achieving an A* in Mathematics in college and a gold certificate for the UK Senior Mathematics Challenge. Truthfully, although I adore studying Psychology at degree level, I miss studying and practicing Mathematics, and being able to tutor others at any level of this subject would be a great opportunity for me (I can also show a certificate showing that my class had voted me "Maths Queen" from my first year in college, although unfortunately that isn't an official academic certificate, oh well).
I will available to tutor both in person and online. I believe that a tutor should first and foremost be patient with their student, and ask about the specific goals of the student, and how best to achieve these goals. I will find out what the student is struggling with on their course, and primarily focus on this, although other aspects of the course would be touched on and polished.
I don't believe in charging extortionate prices for those who are simply trying to improve their education. Not all of us are rolling in money and it shouldn't stop people from aiming high academically. I know from my young niece that her education does not always take into account different learning styles and abilities and some students can be brushed aside when they require help. I'm offering this service at a small fee to allow these students the opportunity to learn in a way that is more beneficial for them, perhaps in a setting with fewer people or an online setting. Students should be taught in an environment that is adaptable to them, not the other way around.
I do not have prior experience in tutoring, although I remember being the one that other students tended to turn to when struggling with something in class.
I was a prefect in high school so I have some experience in helping other students in their academic lives, though I never had the opportunity to help other students officially in their studies.
