2016: Daily Mail Sportsdesk, London.
Job description: Contributor for MailOnline
During my time at the Daily Mail I had to be reliable and work to deadlines, to make sure that a specific number of articles were posted online by a certain time. I had the motivation to work flexible hours, both early in the morning and late at night, and on the night of the Tottenham Hotspur Chelsea match I worked past the required hours to talk and learn from editors, conscious of the fact that I wanted to experience a busy newsroom to challenge myself in a fast-moving environment. When I experienced a live news conference I was studious in making sure my notes and preparation were ready in case I needed to use them at short notice, while shorthand was paramount in taking notes accurately and efficiently.
2015: Leyton Orient, London.
Job description: Shadow to Media Press Officer Colin Munford
At Leyton Orient, I learnt how to write articles and changed my writing dynamic in the mould and the style it appeared on the website. The role I found most challenging was interviewing players from the youth team, but the time at the club improved my communication skills and demonstrated my ability to enthusiastic and persistent when working to tight deadlines. Over the week I learnt how to compile video and sound recordings and found that I learned a lot from trial and error given the video package gradually improved over the week.
2014: Wells Primary School, London.
Job description: P:E Coordinator
I did work-experience in a leadership role, coordinating activities and events which were enjoyable. It meant that I had to remain vigilant to make sure that every piece of equipment was set up in the right place and to be organized, encouraging every child to take part regardless of their ability.
