I give lessons up to A level, tailoring my approach to each student. Typically each lesson will be structured to begin with an introduction and worked examples, followed by questions to consolidate understanding of the topic. I have 4 years experience of working with children, so I am aware of the different ways in which people learn, and how to best cater to their needs.
I am a student at the University of Leeds, and I have been tutoring for 2 years. Both my previous students were primary school age, however I have assisted in year 7, 8 and 9 maths lessons, so I have experience working with a wide range of ages. I achieved A*, A*, A in Maths, Physics and Further Maths respectively at A level, so I have in-depth knowledge of the subjects and the exam technique required.
Having completed my A levels in the summer of last year and achieving excellent grades in maths and physics, I have decided to take a gap year before starting my degree in October. After experiencing how rewarding tutoring can be, I am looking to further share my interest and knowledge in maths and physics. I have four years of experience in working with children aged between 5 and 15, as a gymnastics coach. This has taught me how to tailor activities to fit children’s individual needs, along with the communication and leadership skills vital in enabling children to reach their full potential.
