I am a student currently studying chemical engineering at the University of Bath. I have a flare for mathematics and chemistry, as well as a love for both the subjects. At A-level, I achieved 3 A*s in Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry. I am offering tutoring in mathematics and chemistry for GCSE, AS and A2 through the summer.
I start by assessing the students current capability, and designing the lessons around that assessment and where the student feels they need to improve. My main method of teaching is to present the theory and have the students make notes, then I do worked examples with the student and give the student exercises to complete for the next lesson. I don't offer lessons over webcam because I feel it is not as effective for the tutee.
I started teaching during my A-levels with a younger member of my extended family. He was struggerling to pass his GCSE maths (predicted a low D) and I was able to pass with a high B.
I am new to professional tutoring, but I have an enthusiasm for doing so and plenty of experience with good and bad teachers.
I will have to charge for travel over 10km (6.25 miles) of 0.60p per km, both there and back.
