I'm a student of electronic engineering and I have finished 1 year placement in Vienna. I worked on a signal generator project. I would like to share my knowledge about FPGAs, VHDL and digital design skills that I have acquired in the industry.
I have an experience in digital design and FPGA. I successfully finished a few electronic project including:
-Arbitraty waveform generator (FPGA, DAC, VHDL and UART)
-Pulse reader project (Light dependant resistors)
-Near Field Communication Emulator Project
I'm last year student of Electronic Engineering at Coventry University
2014 – Current Coventry University UK, BENG Electronic Engineering
Second year modules:
Communication Systems, Analogue and Digital, Programming for Engineers, Control and Instrumentation and Embedded Microprocessors Group Project.
Mark for second year: above 70% overall.
Arbitrary signal generator:
• During my placement year, I worked within a group of four to design and build an arbitrary signal generator. As the FPGA designer, I was responsible to design entity that generates requested waveforms.
• Beside of design of a signal generator core, I program UART protocol including CRC-16 that allowed me to control the signal generator using Java application running on a PC.
• I developed this project on both Xilinx and Altera FPGA boards which means that I had to implement my design using Vivado and Quartus II software.
• During the project, I improved my people skills and design skills as I successfully finished the project and meet all goals that specified speed and function of the generator. I also developed my problem solving methods in order to assess when there was an issue with the circuit and design a resolution in good time.
