I believe that the key to learning is finding a way that works for you no matter your age or experience. I will take time to understand your personal strengths and weaknesses so that together we can create lessons which are not boring. In the past this has included turning formula into songs and learning through using multiple senses. If meeting in person does not work for you I am happy to support online too.
I am a student at Edge Hill University completing my final year from September 2018. I have been tutoring for 4 years for students aged 5 to 18. I have taught over 200 students mainly in maths but also aiding in spelling and grammar. Many students come to me with grades that are fails and have managed to earn passes, however, I have helped many to improve from a low pass to a high pass too. I worked for a company for some time in which the aim was to encourage younger pupils to enjoy maths which resulted in their grades improving.
I am happy to negotiate prices. If requesting a cancellation or a time change please provide at least 48 hours notice. There may be a charge for less than 48 hours as I will be making travel arrangements in advance.

Party Host and General Assistant
January 2017 – April 2018
This role was a play centre similar to Funsters. I would host parties for children newborn up to the age of 11 years old and took part in special occasion events throughout the year. I served food and drink as well as taking and organising party bookings over the phone, in person and online. An additional part of my role was to host disco nights which took place every Friday from 4 pm to 6 pm. This included getting large groups of children together to play games and take part in creative activities such as arts and crafts.
Professor Poopenshtinken's Magical Maths, Market Harborough
October 2016 - January 2017
This role involved travelling to different schools to teach children mathematics in a way which aimed to inspire children to find fun in maths. Many of the tasks were designed to look like magic tricks which encouraged the children to use maths to perform the magic. The main age group that I worked with was Key Stage 2 however I did experience teaching Key Stage 1 for some time.
January 2015 - September 2016
In this role, I would host birthday parties for children from newborn to 11 years old. The groups would be from 10 children to 150 on special occasions such as Christmas and Halloween. I would also serve food and drinks, general cleaning and I ran the go kart sessions.
National Citizen Service, Middlewich
June 2014 - July 2014
I volunteered over the summer for a total of 4 weeks. We raised our own money using coffee mornings and any funds that we could give as a group and we then took the money and repaired and renovated a place called Croxton Trail - a picnic area, field and a popular space for dog walkers. We removed weeds, sanded and repainted the benches and dug up old, dead plants to replace them with new ones.

Hobbies and Interests
I have a keen interest in helping others. I have gained my 100V award for volunteering over 100 hours in one summer which is listed above. I love puzzles - especially maths puzzles and riddles or generally anything that gets me thinking. At school, I was a bully buddy prefect which took up a lot of my time as I would hold meetings and group sessions but it was all worth it. At Edge Hill University I aid many of my peers with their spelling and grammar for assignments and create charts and graphs to display research findings visually.
