My name is Safia, I'm 25 years old and I live in the Southfields area. I'm a Mathematics graduate from the University of York. I achieved an A* at A-Level for Mathematics and also have experience tutoring and working as a teaching assistant.
I am currently training to be a Mathematics Teacher at UCL. Here I have learnt that to use investigative techniques to show students why the Mathematics works and implement a long term understanding of the subject.
My method within sessions is to give a brief explanation of the topic being studied, some worked examples and then I will ask the student to complete their own related questions and assist them where need be. I also would like to go through an exam question or two to get the student comfortable with the whole exam process which is essentially where their studying will lead them to.
I charge £25 per hour - this is the cost of travel, preparation and the actual service.

Working on a YSIS placement (York Students In Schools) at All Saints Roman Catholic School was my initial experience of working within a school environment. I developed teaching techniques from trial and error; learning from mistakes with what methods work well with different students and learnt to use initiative within this professional setting.
I also work at two seperate tuition companies where I help tutor children and teenagers one on one. This is my most recent experience with teaching and I've developed an encouraging attitude for students to work effectively.
I thoroughly believe that along with my experience, my passion and caring attitude would make a great point of contact for students and colleagues within a teaching environment. Furthermore, I have the capability to be patient with students as I understand that not all students work at the same pace or respond to the same teaching methods.

Perfect! Safia is polite, courteous on time and above all a fabulous tutor. So easy to work with, she has a wonderful manner and is a delight with my daughter. It also helps that she is super bright. 5 star Safia!
Scarlet and her parents are so easy to work with. Scarlet also nearly always hands in homework and makes an excellent effort. Extremely pleasant people!
