I teach Classical Piano and Theory, Jazz Double Bass and Theory and Rock/Pop Electric Bass.

MMus in Jazz Performance (double bass) from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama;
Higher Diploma in Music Education from Rock School;
Grade 7 piano (distinction);
Grade 6 oboe (merit);
Grade 5 double bass (pass);
Grade 5 music theory (pass);
- How much do you charge?
I charge £30.00 per hour and £20.00 for half an hour, which includes my travel to you within 6 miles (return) of my home address - I come to you. If you come to me half hour lessons are £15.00. There is a 40p surcharge per mile over the 6 miles to cover travelling time as well as petrol. I usually round it down in your favour.
- Where do you teach?
I teach at students' homes with travel within 6 miles return of my home address included in my fee. Anything over 6 miles and I charge an extra 40p per mile. I'll travel as far as I reasonably can so get in touch anyway!
- When are you available?
I'm normally available during the daytime as well as some evenings. No Saturdays at present.
- Which ages and levels do you teach?
I teach all ages from beginners to Grade 8 (classical theory and piano) and from beginners to undergraduate level (jazz theory and double bass).

- What kind of experience do you have?
Lots of performing experience across classical, rock/pop and jazz. Currently playing on the London Jazz scene in various incarnations including the Kevin Davy Group and with function band Soul Avenue. Had radio airplay with two previous indie/rock bands on BBC Radio and London's XFM.
Teaching experience includes a stint teaching improvisation and aural skills at Barking FE College in Essex, classical piano lessons through Umbrella Music and private tuition for piano, theory and double bass.

Trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Jeff Clyne, Steve Watts, Trevor Tomkins, Scott Stroman, Martin Hathaway, Malcolm Edmonstone and Pete Churchill. Have also learnt with Michael Garrick and Paul Moylan at Jazz Academy.

Pupils range from 8 years of age to 40 plus. All ethnic groups catered for. Recent successes include two Grade 2 and one Grade 1 Classical Piano passes.
